What the Bible says ♦ Past and future

One Triune God

“Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.” (Deuteronomy 4:39, NIV)

The Bible clearly speaks about a single God, eternal in his existence, with no beginning and no end. He has all the power, all the knowledge and he rules over everything that exists. He is also committed to his words, so he keeps all his promises. He is right in his decisions, but also merciful. There is no one else that could be compared with him.

The God of the Bible is a triune God. It is: God - the Father, God - the Son and God - the Holy Spirit. Although it is hard for the human mind to understand this concept, it is a very important one. There are no three gods, but instead there is a single God, in three persons. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. But the Father is not the Son, the Father is not the Holy Spirit and the Son is not the Holy Spirit.

Human mind is limited to the things that are common to our earthly existence, but in God’s world, he exists as a single God in three different persons. It is like looking at a triangle drawing. Each corner of the triangle is part of the triangle, but still, each corner of the triangle is different.

This God created us, and wants us to be with him for eternity. Read the following sections and find how this dream can become reality.
