What the Bible says ♦ Salvation

God`s Salvation

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23, NIV)

Human condition is completely hopeless. We are born with a sinful nature which will make us all commit sin. And sin is something so serious in God’s eyes, that the punishment is eternal death. No one can escape from this.

But God had a plan to save people from this eternal disaster caused by sin. And this plan of salvation is the main theme of the Bible. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world to take the sin of the world, to die on the cross as a sacrifice and to rise from the dead the third day. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” (John 3:16-18, NIV)

Jesus Christ died on the cross for all the people, and his resurrection confirmed that everything he said was true. Jesus said “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, NIV) Jesus is not one way among others, but the only way! “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12, NIV)

Although the human condition is hopeless since Adam’s sin, Jesus Christ came to bring hope and to rescue people from the condemnation they deserve. “Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.” (Romans 5:18-19, NIV) Because of Adam, sin entered the world and spread to all people from that time until today. But because of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, all who believe in him are rescued, forgived and made righteous.

There is no other like Jesus. He is the Son of God, true God, who took a human body and lived a perfect sinless life, teaching people about the real life that God wants us to live. Although many tried to find something wrong in his life, nobody could ever find at least one sin. He was crucified for our sins and he died in our place. Then he rose from the dead on the third day, proving that everything he said was true. The accounts of his resurrection proved to be accurate, and they are historically confirmed. This is the most important event in history!
